Featured technique 02: Psoas stretch (Move 34 of the side position routine)
This advanced move opens the hips and stretches the Psoas iliacus muscles and the anterior thigh
How to perform it (as shown):
Effect: Stretches the Psoas muscle group, lessens lumbar tightness, improves breathing, stretches the anterior thigh, improves digestion
Variations: You can use your knee instead of your right arm to stabilise the sacrum
Use gentle pressure and work with the Client’s breathing. This is an advanced move and may require preparatory work to relax the quadruceps
Make sure you stabilise the sacrum and pelvis, this is not a lumbar flexion!
Do not perform if Client has pain in this area, you could make it worse!
Nuad bo Ruan helps in the unblocking of energy in the person, it is not a substitute for medical treatment, if in doubt refer your client to a qualified medical practitioner.
This is for information only, do not attempt to practice this move without prior instruction. Sawa’dee
